MANIFESTE

Mes dessins à l’encre traitent de la relation complexe entre l’humain et la nature. On peut les appeler « dessins organiques », figuratifs au départ, qui évoluent progressivement vers la représentation de textures et de compositions abstraites. Il en ressort une part de mystère. C’est un travail introspectif où se mêlent certaines références à d’autres artistes et écrivains. Tracer patiemment des milliers de points et de traits pour faire éclore doucement la matière sur le papier est propice à la méditation : il faut repenser le sens des limites et de l’illimité à l’ère de l’anthropocène. L’art de l’anthropocène interroge le sens de l’activité humaine et dialogue avec l’écologie, c’est un art dont la grande caractéristique est l’attachement au monde naturel, au végétal, à l’animal. C’est aussi une invitation à agir lentement, comme pour la conception d’une forêt, un espace qui se gère sur des temps longs. Dernièrement le thème des îles est devenu récurrent dans mon travail. Ces îles nommées i(s)les : le S entre parenthèses ayant disparu au fil du temps dans la langue française, tout comme tendent à disparaitre ces lieux paisibles où domine le monde végétal.

PARCOURS

- née en 1977 en région lyonnaise ;

- étudie les Arts graphiques à l’Institut Supérieur des Arts Appliqués de Paris (LISAA) et les Lettres à l’Université Sorbonne Nouvelle (Paris III) ;

- travaille en agence publicitaire à Rome, réalisant des communications visuelles pour des clients tels que Nissan, Eni, Peroni avec une prédilection pour l’illustration ;

- se tourne progressivement vers le monde de l’art et du dessin contemporain ;

- enseigne la langue française à l’université de Bergame de 2011 à 2021 parallèlement à l’activité artistique ;

- réside actuellement à Luxembourg, après avoir passé dix-huit ans en Italie.

STATEMENT

My ink drawings deal with the complex relationship between humankind and nature. We can call them « organic drawings », figurative at first, then evolving towards the representation of abstract textures and compositions. A certain mystery stands out. It is an introspective work mingled with references to artists and writers. Patiently tracing thousands of dots and dashes to make matter bloom on paper favors meditation: we must revamp the sense of limits and infinity in the Anthropocene era. The art of the Anthropocene questions the meaning of human activity and flirts with ecology, it is an art of struggle, an art whose main characteristic is the strong attachment to the natural world, to the plant, to the animal. It is also an invitation to act slowly, as for the design of a forest, a field managed in the long run. Recently, the theme of islands has become recurrent in my work. These islands are entitled in French "i(s)les" instead of "îles". Over time the "s" in parentheses disappeared in the French language, just like these peaceful places where the plant world dominated tend to disappear.

BIOGRAPHY

- born in 1977 in Lyon (France);

- studied Arts at l’Institut Supérieur des Arts Appliqués in Paris (LISAA) and Literature at Sorbonne Nouvelle University (Paris III);

- worked as a graphic designer for advertising agencies in Rome for clients as Nissan, Eni, Peroni, with a predilection for illustration;

- gradually moved towards the world of art and contemporary drawing;

- taught French language at the University of Bergamo from 2011 to 2021 in parallel with artistic activities;

- currently resides in Luxembourg, after 18 years in Italy.
